Lord Michael Grade is celebrating 1963 on BBC Radio 2, a year which gave birth to modern Britain. The show will feature the Profumo Scandal, on which Andrew Lloyd Webber's Stephen Ward the Musical is based, a scandal that changed the national psyche and became a milestone in the dismantling of the moral policing of Britain.
1963 was also the year that David Frost became a national icon for presenting the BBC TV series 'That Was The Week That Was', also known as 'TW3'. Each show lasted an hour and was filmed in front of an audience at London's Riverside Studio. Sir David was to present the new series of the show but unfortunately passed away this year, just weeks before recording. Lord Michael Grade will present the show as a tribute to him and will feature extracts of TW3 and its impact on British life.
